My Week-Long Adventure on the Carnival Cruise Mardi Gras Ship out of Port Canaveral

Last week, I had the pleasure of embarking on the Carnival Cruise Mardi Gras ship out of Port Canaveral for a week-long vacation. The ship is the newest addition to the Carnival fleet and boasts a range of exciting features, from a roller coaster and waterslides to a stunning atrium.

One of the highlights was the cruise director, the Flying Scotsman. He was so entertaining and really knew how to keep the energy and vibes high throughout the entire trip.

The dining options on the ship were plentiful, with over seven restaurants to choose from. During my stay, I sampled a variety of cuisines and found some clear favorites. Chibang and Farenheit had the best food onboard, while the Mardi Gras Palm restaurant was mediocre. Unfortunately, the Sea Brunch was underwhelming, with the food not coming out hot. However, overall, I was impressed by the quality and variety of food available.

The staff on the ship were friendly and accommodating, and they went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a memorable experience. From the cabin stewards to the waitstaff, everyone was attentive and courteous. Unfortunately, I did encounter a couple of bartenders who seemed to be discriminatory in who they served, which was disappointing. However, this was a minor issue, and it did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the trip.

The first two days of the trip were spent at sea, and they were quite chilly and windy. However, there were still plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, from trivia contests to dance classes.

When the ship arrived in San Juan, the weather improved, and it was hot and sunny. I took the opportunity to explore the city and sample some of the delicious local cuisine.

The next stop on the trip was Amber Cove, which unfortunately was rainy. Carnival had ponchos available for purchase for $5.99 upon debarking the ship. Despite the weather, I was able to go zip-lining and also had some delicious Dominican food. The staff on the excursion were professional and made sure that everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience.

Grand Turks was my favorite stop on the trip, with its crystal-clear waters and stunning beaches. The locals were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and I enjoyed the close proximity of the beach to the ship. The drinks on the beach were great, and I highly recommend trying the jerk chicken from Jack’s Shack, which is a walk down the beach.

Overall, I had a wonderful time on the Carnival Cruise Mardi Gras ship out of Port Canaveral. While there were a few minor issues with the food and some of the staff, the overall experience was fantastic. The ship offers a wide range of activities and dining options, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this sailing to others looking for a fun and relaxing vacation.
