Traveling can be exciting and fun, but it can also be stressful if you’re not prepared. To make your next trip a breeze, here are some travel must-haves that you should consider packing:
1. Passport and Travel Documents: The most important item you’ll need for international travel is your passport. Make sure it’s up to date and pack it in a safe, easily accessible place. Also, don’t forget to bring any other travel documents you might need, such as visas, travel insurance, and flight tickets. I tend to keep my passport and global entry card in a passport holder, which helps me stay organized.

2. Comfortable Shoes: Whether you’re exploring a new city or hiking through the countryside, comfortable shoes are a must. Make sure you have a pair that fits well and provides enough support for your feet. Also, if you are going to wear sandals in the airport, please bring socks, you don’t want your toes freezing on your flight!

3. Portable Charger: Your phone is your lifeline when traveling, so make sure it stays charged. A portable charger is a great way to keep your devices powered up, especially when you’re on the go. If you like to take pictures and videos, a portable charger is essential. I like the charger seen below because it is compact and convenient enough for me to fit it in most of my bags.

4. Travel Pillow: Traveling can be tiring, especially if you’re on a long flight or road trip. A travel pillow can help you get some rest and arrive at your destination feeling refreshed. Waking up with a crooked neck, is not the best way to begin a trip, lesson learned! Now, my travel pillow goes everywhere with me!

5. Universal Adapter: Different countries have different electrical outlets, so a universal adapter is essential if you want to charge your devices or use your electronics while abroad. Having a universal adapter is so important. When I studied abroad in Madrid, my universal adapter was a saving grace! The inability to plug things in when needed can be daunting. Therefore, it’s better to purchase your adapter prior to arriving at your destination.

6. First-Aid Kit: Accidents can happen, so it’s always a good idea to have a basic first-aid kit on hand. It should include items such as band-aids, pain relievers, and antiseptic wipes. If you are clumsy like me, you should defintely pack a first-aid kit, or at-least the essentials.

7. Waterproof Phone Case: If you’re planning on spending time near water, a waterproof phone case can protect your phone from damage. It’s also great for rainy days. I love waterproof phone cases for water activities such as waterparks, yachts, snorkeling and scuba diving, jet skis, horseback-riding in the water, jumping in Cenotes, Kayaking and Canoeing, and swimming. Overall, any activity that involves water or exposure to the elements would require a waterproof phone case to ensure your phone stays safe and functional.

8. Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is important when traveling, so bring a reusable water bottle that you can refill throughout the day. It’s also better for the environment than buying bottled water. The STANLEY IceFlow Stainless Steel Tumbler with Straw is a versatile and durable water bottle that can be used at home, in the office, or on the go. This vacuum insulated tumbler keeps your drinks hot or cold for hours, making it the perfect companion for travel. The reusable cup comes with a leakproof flip lid and a straw, making it easy to take your drink on the go without any spills. The tumbler is made of high-quality stainless steel and is easy to clean and maintain. With a 20-ounce capacity, it’s the perfect size to hold your favorite drink.

9. Travel-Sized Toiletries: To save space and comply with TSA regulations, pack travel-sized toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo, and sunscreen. I typically buy regular sized products and put them into TSA approved travel bottles. I do this because to me, you get more bang for your buck. However if there is a sale on travel-sized toiletries, I am in there like swimwear!

10. Daypack: A daypack is perfect for carrying your essentials while exploring a new destination. Look for one that’s lightweight and comfortable to wear. I love using a daypack when going on excursions. If water is involved, I usually leave my bag on the boat or in a visible place for me to see on land.

In conclusion, having the right travel essentials can make all the difference in your trip. From packing cubes to portable chargers, noise-cancelling headphones to comfortable shoes, there are a variety of must-haves that can enhance your travel experience and make your journey more enjoyable. Remember to pack light and only bring what you need, and consider investing in quality items that will last for multiple trips.
